Year-End Survey, AGM RSVP & Out-of-Season Training Reminder
Hi Everyone,
As we wrap up the season, we’d appreciate it if everyone could take a few minutes to complete our Year-End Survey. Your feedback is valuable and will help the new Board plan for the upcoming season and identify areas where we can continue to improve.

Please also remember to RSVP for the September 11th AGM so we can plan accordingly and make sure we have enough food for everyone.
Out-of-Season Training Reminder
We also wanted to provide a reminder regarding the ASSA out-of-season training rules. Please review these guidelines before registering your swimmer for any swimming programs, camps, or training during the off-season.
Under the current ASSA rules:
- Specific training dedicated to competitive swimming is not permitted during the out-of-season period.
- A swimmer may participate in a one-time trial period of up to 60 days with a year-round swim club between September 1 and November 30.
- Additional trial periods may be considered upon written request and approval by the ASSA Executive Committee.
- Swimmers cannot participate in more than two trial periods in a single season, or accumulate more than 240 trial days over their lifetime.
- Participation in training sessions and competitions with an Alberta High School Swim Team is permitted.
- Recognized learn-to-swim programs focused on water safety and swimmer development are permitted.
- The I Can Swim program offered by a year-round swim club is permitted. Other programs administered by year-round clubs, including additional learn-to-swim programs, are not permitted.
- Multi-sport participation is encouraged, including sports and activities such as water polo, diving, artistic swimming, triathlons, junior lifeguards, and underwater hockey.
- Other activities, such as swim camps, may be permitted at the discretion of the ASSA Executive Committee and require a written request.
If you are unsure whether a particular program or activity is permitted, please reach out before registering or participating.
