Hello Piranhas,

If you go to the Events tab of the Piranhas website, you will see that the Casino RSVP volunteer signups are now open.

The Piranhas get the opportunity to participate in a Casino fundraiser once every 3 years. This is a huge fundraiser for our Club, and the earnings provide a substantial portion of our revenue each year, which help keep our swim fees down. The Casino information is as follows:

Casino Date: Wednesday September 30^th and Thursday October 1^st, 2026

Location: Ace Casino Blackfoot. 4040 Blackfoot Trail SE, Calgary

Shifts: All of the casino shifts have been loaded into the system along with descriptions of each position. Unlike our regular volunteering process, if you choose a shift on this form, this will be the shift that you will be scheduled for so you can plan accordingly. I know this is a long way away and we can alter the signups closer to the date as necessary. I just need to have the key slots filled before I can apply for our Casino license. Key volunteer position details include:

1. Members must fill the positions of General Manager, Banker, Cashier, and Countroom Supervisor; other positions can be worked by family or friends

2. A person may only work a single position during the Casino event, so if you work Cashier on one shift you can only work Cashier on a subsequent shift.

Shift allocation: Up until August 30th all families will be allowed to sign up for one shift. If there are remaining shifts after August 30^th, we will open the signup for families with multiple children swimming to take a second shift. If there are any unclaimed spots after that we will open it to anyone to fill the remaining slots.

Credits: Every shift that a Piranhas family member works for the Casino will be offered a credit towards their child's swim fees in the 2027 season. By AGLC regulations we are able to offer 10% of our total casino earnings as credits back to the families that volunteer. The final credit amount that will be provided will be calculated once our club receives the gaming revenue in Q1, 2027. This is expected to be approximately $150 per shift and is only an estimate at this time.

Worker Application Form: Key positions (General Manager, Banker, Cashier, Countroom Supervisor) must fill out the worker application form (attached). Please send completed forms to [email protected] or give the form to us in person.
