Tritons warmups and meet info
Happy Friday Piranhas families!
We have 48 swimmers registered to go to the Tritons' 50th annual invitational at MNP Centre tomorrow.
Warmups will be in lanes 4&5 of the competition pool:
7:30 – 7:50 – Red and Yellow
7:50 – 8:10 – Silver and Orange
8:10 – 8:30 – Black
lanes 1 & 2 in the South pool (non competition pool) will remain open and available for cool-down and warm-up throughout the meet. Swimmers will need to check in with their coach if they want to use these lanes during the meet. They are not for "playing", just for cooling down and warming up for individual events, and diving will not be permitted.
Start Times
Saturday morning: 8:30am
Saturday afternoon: looks like we the morning session will be done at noon and the afternoon session will start at 1 pm
Parking
MNP Rec Centre can be very busy AND it will be Stampede! Please plan to arrive early. Please obey all parking restrictions within the lot - every meet the facility has to find the owner of a vehicle parked somewhere that is not a spot.
Food and Beverage
We will have a break for lunch. The facility has great snack and beverage options, but limited lunch options (Jugo Juice and Good Earth). Please plan accordingly.
Swimmer and Mess Management
Swimmers will be on-deck on cement bleachers or the side of the deck during the sessions. Please no camping equipment (tents/folding chairs). Extra towels or stadium seats are more appropriate. Food is allowed on deck, but is restricted to the team areas (e.g., Meet management and the lifeguards hope not to see swimmers wandering around the pool deck leaving muffin crumb trails).
Swimmers/teams are responsible for maintaining and cleaning their area. The Tritons will be fined by the facility for excessive mess and we will pass that fine onto the offending team. Parents should help their swimmers pack appropriately (e.g., spill resistant cups, food that does not crumble).
Parent-swimmer management
MNP is a beautiful and large facility. We do understand that especially for the young kids, parents may want to provide more active supervision. We simply can NOT allow parents/spectators on deck. Each team may designate a reasonable number of chaperones. Chaperones should be dressed in team gear or a white shirt. We will have a gate attendant and we will allow one parent to accompany very young (suggest ~7 and under) down to find their team for the first time only. After that, parents must immediately return to the stands and then make arrangements with an older swimmer for any additional required support.
This is a liability issue and they can not make exceptions. Please contact the meet manager with any concerns ([email protected]).
50/50
The Tritons are running a 50/50! Tickets are available now and will be sold until the end of July 8, 2023. Calgary Tritons 50/50 Cash Raffle Fundraiser | Rafflebox
