IMPORTANT: Head to Head Program - Friday, May 26th
DATE: Friday, May 26th, 2023
** All practices on Friday May 26th are cancelled so that swimmers can attend the presentation. Only swimmers signed up for the pool sessions will be swimming that night**
PRESENTATION BY YURI KISIL
5-6pm in Hillside Room, Spray Lake Sawmills Centre
Yuri is a two-time Olympian (2016 & 2020) and will be discussing his swimming career as well as several topics related to swimming. At the Tokyo Olympics Yuri swam the third (and fastest) leg for the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay that finished 4th (video). Potential include: Resilience, Recovery, Time Management, Goal Setting, Managing Nerves, Healthy Habits, Mindfulness, Accountability, Team Culture, Performance and Pressure, and Social Media and Technology Habits.
The presentation is open to all swimmers and there is no cost. We will set up some chairs in the back for parents to attend if they would like. Please RSVP on the website (under events) so we know how many people to expect. Video or audio recording of the session is not allowed.
There will be some time at the end available for questions and pictures with Yuri.
POOL SESSIONS
Orange: 6-7pm
Black: 7-8pm
After the presentation our older swimmers will get a chance to have some pool time with Yuri. Yuri is a freestyle specialist, so we have requested that he focus his time coaching freestyle technique.
Registration is open on the website for swimmers in the Black and Orange group on the events page of the website. Some Silver swimmers may be invited to attend as well depending on registration numbers.
There will be a $25 charge to participate in the pool session. This will help us offset a portion of the cost of the Head to Head program. Payments can be e-transferred to [email protected] to confirm your spot.
