Season Celebration - Awards and AGM!

Hello Piranhas!

We've had a great season and it's time to celebrate! We will be having a season celebration on Friday September 9th at 6pm at the Cochrane Ranche Clubhouse Activity Center. Please see the attached flyer for all the details. It promises to be a great time with pizza and pop and you can even bring your favourite adult beverage!

Sandwiched between pizza and awards is the real highlight of the evening: our Annual General Meeting! The AGM is an important activity for us as it is a legislated requirement. At the AGM you will hear from the Board about how the season went, what the future looks like, and how the club is doing financially. We will also be looking to elect board members for next season. All board positions are 1 year terms. We must elect a President, Treasurer, and a Secretary, and we also have 9 members-at-large board positions. Often each of these board members takes on one of the following portfolios:

  • President-Elect
  • Registrar
  • Coaching Director
  • Volunteer Coordinator
  • Officials Coordinator
  • Equipment Coordinator
  • Media Relations
  • Fundraising
  • Casino Coordinator

However, you can take on a portfolio and not be on the board, and it is possible to have board members without portfolio (just to add a little confusion). All members are encouraged to put their names forward for any position they are interested in. We do have some board members who are willing to return (if elected), however we do have three key vacancies: Treasurer, Secretary, and Equipment Coordinator.
