***Important Piranhas Home Meet Information***

Our home meet is only 17 days away!!

Both our raffle and hospitality committees have been hard at work preparing for our home meet July 15th-16th. In order to have everything run smooth and stay in budget we need to ask for some help from our parents.

RAFFLE DONATIONS

The raffle table is an important part of the meet at it is one of the only ways we can raise extra money to help offset the cost of hosting the meet. The raffle committee has been working on getting donations from local businesses, however, as in past years we will need parents to donate items to help supplement the donations we receive. We are asking for one donation from each family.

Donation Ideas:

  • Alcohol (wine, beer etc), Gift Cards or something that would fit in one of the themed baskets they are putting together (toys, summer fun, movie night, game night, eating out gift cards). Please include the approximate value of your donation as we need that to do the raffle licensing.

The deadline to receive the items will be July 6th. Donations can be given to Lacy Moulder, Tracy Cisek, Christine Black, Kim Wiebach, or Claire Breeze. If you don’t know who they are or need to make alternate arrangements for your donation just let me know ([email protected]).

I have also attached our donation letter if you know of a business that would like to consider donating.

HOSPITALITY

Our hospitality committee has a wonderful meal plan for our officials for Friday and Saturday of our meet. They are in need of some items (coolers, pitchers, crockpots) and baked goods (cookies, banana bread, muffins). Donations are appreciated so that our officials get some homemade items and it also helps keep the committee on budget.

If you go to the events tab on our website you will see an event called “Home Meet Hospitality”. Clicking the job signup tab will allow you to see the items they are requesting.

HOME MEET VOLUNTEERING

I will be sending out the volunteer signup sheet to other clubs within the next week or so. However, I would like to sign up all of our Piranhas volunteers before I open it up to other clubs. So please take the time to RSVP your swimmer on our website and sign up for what volunteer job you would like to do. Remember you are required to volunteer for one shift at our home meet but we will let you sign up for more if you want :)

If you have any specific requests for volunteering please email me and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

REGIONALS & PROVINCIALS RELAYS

I know Regionals (August 6-7th in Calgary) & Provincials (Aug 12-14th in Edmonton) seems like it is a long way off but the coaches would like to start planning relay teams. On the Regionals event on the website you will see instructions there for when you sign up. Please indicate in the signup notes if your swimmer will be available to attend Provincials on August 12-14. The coaches will then make up relay teams that will compete at the regional level only and teams that will be able to attend provincials if they qualify.
