Didsbury individual and relay events. Arrive at 7:15, warmups at 7:30 am

Hi everyone

Crazy to think we are just 6 days away from our first meet of the season!!

Attached are the individual and relay event entries for the Didsbury meet as well as the updated meet package. The event schedule changed slightly and 50 free for swimmers 9+ as well as 50 back for swimmers 7-10 was moved to the afternoon session.  The meet hosts are also enforcing a rule that swimmers can only be in a maximum of 2 events per session; so there may be some slight changes to which events your swimmer is entered in compared to what they talked about with their coach.

There is a free relay in the morning and a medley relay in the afternoon.  For the new swimmers that are 10 and under, you are all on a free relay but not everyone is on a medley relay as we don't have quite enough swimmers that can swim butterfly and breaststroke at those ages yet.  As the season progresses it will be easier for everyone to get the opportunity to be on more relays.  Relays are also always subject to change ... last minute relay changes usually happen in the morning.  These changes will be communicated to you as soon as we submit the changes.

Bryson and Duncan will be in Didsbury as your coaches for the day.  Max, Eli and myself are going to Fort McMurray to participate in Lifesaving Sport Nationals from June 3rd to 5th. This will mark the end of our lifesaving sport season and we will be at all subsequent meets to support and cheer on our swimmers.

Our warmup time will most likely be at 7:30 am (our time is not usually announced until later in the week).  Warmups are run in smaller sessions from 7:30-8:30, with racing scheduled to start at 8:30.  Bryson and Duncan will meet all the swimmers at our designated "camp" spot in the arena area and bring them to the deck for warmups.

Swimmers are asked to come and talk to the coaches before and after each of their races to get tips and feedback.  This should be done before going into marshalling.

We have many experienced families that will be at the meet; so if you are a new family and find yourself confused about what is going on, please introduce yourself to the other parents and they will be happy to help.  It can all seem a bit overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it things go very smoothly.

The main focus is on fun and personal growth.

I can't wait to hear about everyone's races when I get back from Fort McMurray!!
