Changes for coaching this week

Hi everyone,

Crazy to think we are already done with our first week of the 2022 season.  It goes fast and furious that's for sure!

We the coaches have really enjoyed our first week welcoming back many familiar faces as well as meeting new families and younger siblings that are joining us for their first Piranhas season.

This upcoming week will look a little bit different than last week ... Coach Max is away for the week and Coach Eli is performing in their school play this week at St Timothy; so both will not be coaching.  We are fortunate to be able to have Coach Duncan fill in this week to help with coaching; so you will see him at various practices this week.  He coached the yellow and red groups last season and has previously coached with the Piranhas from 2014 to 2018; so many swimmers will be very familiar with him.

He is currently finishing up his masters at the U of A and is on an internship with ATB Financial which, lucky for us, is a remote work position.  If you are talking to him this week please make sure to thank him for helping us out this week!!

Duncan will also be coaching the first swim meet in Didsbury with Bryson.  Max, Eli and myself will all be in Fort McMurray that weekend competing at lifesaving sport nationals and again are grateful for Duncan being able to step in and help us out.

I also just wanted to reassure parents that we as coaches understand and support the appropriate athlete development (AAD) model and realize that many swimmers have other sport/arts commitments, particularly in May and early June and we understand it is not possible to attend all practices.

Looking forward to another great week ahead of swimming and smiles :)

Coach Amy
