First practice tonight! Quick update from the coaches

Hello swim families ... the day has finally arrived and we are ready to start our 2022 season.  The first full season since 2019.  We are so excited!!

If you are new to the piranhas, you just need to let guest services know that you are here for a piranhas practice and they will let you in the change rooms.  Once the staff are used to seeing us you can just head straight to the change rooms without checking in.

We will meet at the deep end side of the lap pool closest to the bleachers.

We will only be using fins today and tomorrow so that we can focus on getting the swimmers used to our routines without too many interferences.

Our goal today is fun.  We are kicking off our season and recognize that while some swimmers have been in the water doing other sports since September or October, others haven't been in the water since last August.  We will make sure everyone finishes with a smile on their face and excited to come to the next practice :)

We have a few coaching challenges this month due to schedule conflicts; so sometimes the regular coach for the group won't be there and there will be another coach leading the workout.  Know that the coach is still involved in planning the practices and progressions.  Duncan Swedlo who coached red and yellow last season will be helping with some practices in the second week of May as well as coaching with Bryson at the first swim meet in Didsbury on June 4th.  Coaches Amy, Eli and Max will be in Fort McMurray that weekend competing at Lifesaving Sport Nationals so we will unfortunately miss that first swim meet of the season.  Rest assured we will be at the other swim meets!

If you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to me (group 3) at [email protected], Max (group 2) at [email protected] or Bryson (group 1) at [email protected]

See you at the pool!

Amy
